By the way, what is ISO? The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies from 140 countries, one from each country. ISO is a non-governmental organization established in 1947. It is based in Geneva, Switzerland. The mission of ISO is to promote the development of standardization and related activities in the world with a view to facilitating the international exchange of goods and services, and to developing cooperation in the spheres of intellectual, scientific, technological and economical activities.

Next, let us explain the meaning of each ISO standards. The ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 families are among ISO's most widely known and successful standards ever. ISO 9000 is concerned with "quality management". This means what the organization does to enhance customer satisfaction by meeting customer and applicable regulatory requirements and continually to improve its performance in this regard. ISO 14000 is primarily concerned with "environmental management". This means what the organization does to minimize harmful effects on the environment caused by its activities, and continually to improve its environmental performance. As for ISO 9000, it is divided into three types, ISO 9001, ISO 9002, ISO 9003.

• ISO 9001 sets out the requirements for an organization whose business processes range all the way from design and development, production, installation and servicing.
• ISO 9002 is the appropriate standard for an organization whose business processes do not carry out design and development.
• ISO 9003 is the appropriate standard for an organization whose business processes do not include design control, process control, purchasing or servicing, and which basically uses inspection and testing to ensure that final products and services meet specified requirements.

We, Shinsei Industries cover all the business process from design and development, production, installation and servicing and we adhere to the regulations and requirements of ISO 9001. We continue to improve our quality management with the intension of enhancing customer satisfaction.
